Pronunciation
The emphatic form may or may not enlist the sandhi of doubling the initial stop consonant. Accordingly, அழகாத்தான் has the variant spelling அழகாதான். The pronunciation will differ between voiceless stop and voiced stop depending on the presence or absence of sandhi.
எனக்கும்தான் is pronounced as எனக்குந்தான் in the previous conversation, where there is assimilation of the nasal at the end of the preceding word to the stop in the beginning of the following word with regard to their point of articulation. This assimilation takes place in fast pronunciation in which the pause between words disappears. ஒண்ணும் தெரியாது may be pronounced as ஒண்ணுந்தெரியாது

‘My uncle is richer like my father’
- It is common in the sentences of similarity to add -உம் ‘also’ to the noun that is not compared with போல, but is the noun described comparatively. The meaning is the same. But, there is meaning difference in negative sentences. With -உம், the scope of negation covers both nouns with and without போல. Without -உம், the negation covers only the noun without போல. The sentences below have –உம். Write them without -உம் and differentiate the meaning of both sentences in translation.

- To assert similarity in negative sentences, the emphatic -ஏ may be added to போல. Change போல in the given sentences in (12) to போலவே and translate them.
